These Terms of Service apply when you use the Cosy by Clara website or place an order with us. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Please read them carefully before purchasing.
1. About Cosy by Clara
Cosy by Clara creates personalised artwork and prints using photographs and information supplied by our customers.
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Cosy by Clara. “You” and “your” refer to the customer placing an order.
Our website is operated using Shopify.

2. Our personalised products
Many of our products are individually created using photographs, names, wording and/or other personalisation details supplied by you.
Because each personalised piece is created specifically for an individual customer, the finished artwork will be unique.
Product photographs and examples displayed on our website are intended to demonstrate the style and general appearance of our work. Your finished artwork will be based on the photograph and information you provide and will therefore not be identical to example images shown on our website.
3. Photographs you upload
You are responsible for choosing and supplying a suitable photograph for your personalised artwork.
For the best result, we recommend uploading a clear, well-lit photograph where the subject is easily visible.
Where we believe the photograph supplied may not be suitable, we may contact you and request another photograph before proceeding with your order.
By uploading a photograph, you confirm that:
- you own the photograph or have permission to use it;
- you have permission to provide it to us for the purpose of creating your order; and
- where reasonably required, you have permission from the relevant person or rights holder for us to reproduce the image as part of your personalised product.
You retain ownership of photographs you provide to us.
You grant us permission to use and process the photograph as reasonably necessary to create, fulfil and provide your personalised order.
We will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
4. Your responsibility for personalisation details
Please check all information supplied when ordering carefully, including names, wording, photographs, sizes, product choices and any special instructions.
We will create your product using the information you submit.
If you realise that you have made a mistake after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will try to amend it where reasonably possible, but we cannot guarantee changes once work on your personalised order has begun.
5. Artistic interpretation
Our personalised portraits are artistic products.
The creation process may involve artistic interpretation of the photograph supplied, including adjustments to composition, background, colour, texture and other visual details.
Colours may also appear slightly different between screens and the finished printed product because screens and printing processes reproduce colours differently.
These normal artistic and production variations are not necessarily faults.
Nothing in this section affects your legal rights where a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.
6. Orders
When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the selected product subject to these Terms of Service.
You will receive confirmation of your order using the contact details supplied during checkout.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including where:
- we cannot reasonably create the requested product;
- the photograph or content supplied is unlawful or infringes another person's rights;
- there has been an obvious pricing or product-listing error;
- payment cannot be authorised; or
- we cannot fulfil the order for another reasonable operational reason.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken and you are entitled to a refund, we will refund the relevant amount.
7. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed on our website and may change from time to time.
The price applicable to your order will normally be the price displayed when you place the order, subject to correction of obvious errors where permitted by law.
Any applicable delivery charges will be displayed during checkout before you complete your purchase.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
8. Personalised products, cancellations and change of mind
Most Cosy by Clara products are created specifically for you using the photographs and/or personalisation information you provide.
Under UK consumer law, the normal cancellation right for distance purchases does not apply in certain circumstances to goods made to the consumer's specifications or which are clearly personalised.
